For just a handful of these authors, I know that they have definitely solidified their status as Favorite Authors, but for a bunch of these I have only read one of their books so we shall have to wait and see.   The Favorites    all photos are linked to author’s Goodreads pages 1. Sarah J. Maas | I seriously don’t know what I was… Read more »

Review: Manners & Mutiny

Review: Manners & Mutiny

December 3, 2015 Reviews 0 ★★★★½

I think I may have done an extreme disservice by following one AMAZING series ender with yet ANOTHER series ender… ugh. Don’t know how I’m going to continue without the Lunar Chronicles or the Finishing School series in my life anymore, but here we are. Trying to prevent a slump from overtaking me. Manners & Mutiny wraps up questions that may have been on your mind since the first book, like why aren’t there any mechanicals in the Parasol Protectorate series? Or where was the Finishing School during the PP days, and why wasn’t Alexia invited to it? She could’ve… Read more »

Five Popular Books Worth the Hype

December 2, 2015 Blog Events 7

This month I’ll be sporadically linking up with A Month of Faves hosted by Tanya from Girlxoxo, T from Traveling with T, and Andi from Estella’s Revenge. It’s a fun blog blogging event that allows bloggers to gush about all our favorite things from 2015! Today, we’re talking about 5 books that were worth the hype! And I have to say that there were quite a few books I read this year (not necessarily from 2015) that I was worried wouldn’t live up to the hype.   Winter by Marissa Meyer | Winter was EPICALLY hyped, but it was such a wonderful… Read more »

Top Ten 2016 Debut Novels I’m Looking Forward To

Top Ten 2016 Debut Novels I’m Looking Forward To

December 1, 2015 Memes 6

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week we list our top 10 book-related things. This week is Top Ten 2016 Debut Novels I’m Looking Forward To. I’m not always the most trusting of debut authors, because I want to read what I KNOW that I’ll like. So I usually stick to authors I’ve already read and who I trust to write more awesomeness, who I’ve either reread or plan to reread their books. BUT I know that’s not really fair to new authors and prevents me from discovering new favorites, so I’m hoping that this year… Read more »

Review: Ashes to Ashes

Review: Ashes to Ashes

November 30, 2015 Reviews 0 ★★★★

The conclusion of the Burn for Burn trilogy was a mix of emotions for me. I was really happy where everything was going until the last few pages. This is the book in the series where it kind of shifts more into a ghost/paranormal book rather than solely focusing on contemporary elements. Don’t get me wrong there is still plenty of aftermath dealing with Rennie’s death and Lillia and Reeve’s relationship, but the whole plot builds up to what Mary is going to do about revenge. And when are Kat and Lillia going to find out the truth about Mary…. Read more »

Review: Winter

Review: Winter

November 26, 2015 Reviews 3 ★★★★★

I’m not sure if I’m going able to do Winter justice, because 1) it’s hard to review sequels in series (let alone SERIES CONCLUSIONS), and 2) I’m just a FLAILING FANGIRL who is in complete despair because it’s OVER. But alas, here we are. New characters: Winter, a more fully developed Jacin (and now I actually care about him). Before I cracked open Winter, I wasn’t completely convinced that I would enjoy her POV. But I have to say she was rather enticing with her lunar illness, her willingness to help those in need, and her overall kindness despite everything… Read more »

November 24, 2015 Memes 3

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week we list our top 10 book-related things. This week is Thanksgiving themed Freebie — I thought I’d do a mix of bookish and non-bookish things I’m thankful for. Bookish.. All of the new books I’ve acquired this year. Especially my most anticipated reads like Queen of Shadows. The new authors that I’ve discovered this year. 2015 was the first time I read Sarah J. Maas and Gail Carriger, who have become favorites of mine, Taylor Jenkins Reid whose book, After I Do, profoundly impacted me, and many other authors that I enjoyed. Meeting Meg Cabot… Read more »
