Review: Maybe in Another Life

Review: Maybe in Another Life

February 8, 2016 Reviews 0 ★★★★½

I’ve been meaning to read more of Taylor Jenkins Reid since I fell completely head over heels for After I Do. I think that the small doubt that she couldn’t POSSIBLY live up to that book made me hesitate for so long. And while Maybe in Another Life didn’t make me sob uncontrollably or reexamine my life, it really was an amazing book. I think what I enjoyed most out of Maybe in Another Life was that we got two story lines for the price of one. Having Hannah’s life split off down two paths after one simple decision of… Read more »

Reread Review: Twilight

Reread Review: Twilight

February 1, 2016 Reviews 0 ★★★★½

I’m rereading all of the books in the Mediator series as part of the (Re)Read Along I’m co-hosting with Anna from Lostbraincell in preparation for the release of Remembrance, which is tomorrow!!!! Anyone can sign up at any point during our read along, even if it’s just to read Remembrance. Now on to my review for Twilight! Twilight Throughout this reread, it has sometimes felt more like I have been reading these books for the first time due to some extreme book amnesia and that was especially so for Twilight. I honestly didn’t know what to expect or even recall how it all wrapped up…. Read more »

Let’s Talk | Waiting on Books: Now and Then

Let’s Talk | Waiting on Books: Now and Then

January 28, 2016 Discussion 2

This post was inspired by Ella @ Once Upon a Bookish Time‘s post which asked whether or not we enjoy waiting for a book.  When I was younger I was pretty content with waiting for books to come out because it gave me a lot of time to reread my favorites. And TBH I was always waiting on the next book in a series to come out or something new by Tamora Pierce or Meg Cabot. So during that time I could reread my favorites over and over again, maybe try to find a new favorite at the library, or go… Read more »

Review: Size 12 Is Not Fat

Review: Size 12 Is Not Fat

January 25, 2016 Reviews 3 ★★★★

I’ve been trying to read more adult fiction over the past couple of years, so it’s kind of surprising that it took me so long to pick up a book from Meg Cabot’s adult backlist. I LOVED reading Meg Cabot when I was growing up, but I was probably around 13 years old when I started reading her stuff and there was so much coming out that I just never sought out her adult stuff. Royal Wedding kind of gave me a bit of a taste of what her adult stuff was like, so I decided it was about time… Read more »

Resolutions and Goals for 2016

January 23, 2016 Blogging Community, Personal 3

I missed the Top Ten Tuesday for Top Ten Resolutions for 2015, but I’ve been trying to come up with some good ones and since January is rapidly coming to an end, I’ve decided that it’s finally time to share them all with you. Bookish and Blogging Goals Read more adult fiction – I’m not doing a specific challenge for this (though if there is one out there I’d love to know more about it!), but as much as I LOVE YA and everything it has to offer, the few adult books that I have read over the past couple years… Read more »

5 Reasons You Should Read The Immortals Series by Tamora Pierce

January 21, 2016 Reviews 5 ★★★★★

I typically reread a series or two of Tamora Pierce’s books once a year, and in the Fall I DESPERATELY needed a reread to get me out a looming reading slump. So I picked up one of my FAVORITE series, the Immortals by Tamora Pierce. 5 Reasons You Should Read The Immortals Series The fantasy – In this book immortals aka dragons, basilisks, winged horses, centaurs, and all sorts of scary fantasy monsters have come back after centuries of being held in the Divine Realms. December Monthly Update

December Monthly Update

January 19, 2016 Updates 1

I did it!!! My last monthly update for 2015! I’m actually pretty proud of myself for doing these monthly updates pretty consistently over 2015. Sure I may have combined two once and been pretty late quite a few times (**cough**like now**cough**, but I’d still call it a success!   Things I Did: December was pretty crazy, with trying to get all my shopping in for the holidays, organizing my family secret santa, and dealing with family craziness over the holidays. Before Ben and I went to MN to visit our families for Christmas, I did quite a bit of baking… Read more »
