Six of Crows

December 21, 2016 4.5 stars, Reviews 5 ★★★★½

Six of Crows combines two of my favorite things to read: books about thieves/heists and a complex and interesting fantasy world where the rules are still being discovered. Things I Loved: The heist plotline | I mean it had all the tropes and scenes I love, the gathering of the team, the bantering on the journey to do the heist, the reckless behaviors that could ruin the heist, and twists! Basically, it had everything I like about a good heist book and then some because these aren’t your ordinary modern characters, these are freaking fantasy characters with awesome abilities. Seriously though,… Read more »

Mini Review: Changeless

Mini Review: Changeless

April 16, 2015 4.5 stars, Reviews 0 ★★★★½

I loved that Changeless shows what happens after the “happily ever after.” Readers are given a pretty good look at what married life looks for Alexia and Maccon and let me tell you that it is just as steamy and full of bickering as their courtship. It is refreshing to go into a series where the romance ends in marriage in the first book, but the story continues and deals with some of the complications of married life. This is very much a side plot, so don’t be worried that the romance completely takes over.  What I really enjoy about… Read more »

Review: Soulless

Review: Soulless

March 30, 2015 4.5 stars, Reviews 1 ★★★★½

After reading Prudence, I KNEW that I needed to read the Parasol Protectorate. And I’m so happy that I did! Soulless was filled with banter, Victorian language/etiquette/lifestyle/etc, some heated romance, and steampunk inventions. What I Liked: The STEAMY romance that builds between Lord Maccon and Alexia.  There romance starts with them having unfortunate run-ins with each other and each of them viewing the other as a constant annoyance. This leads to the BEST bantor! And I just love the way their arguments turn into sexual tension and start off their romance in such an unconventional way (especially considering the time… Read more »

Reread Review: The Princess Diaries

Reread Review: The Princess Diaries

February 16, 2015 4.5 stars, Reviews 2 ★★★★½

When I First Read It I definitely binge read as much as this series was out when I was in middle school. And then I just kept rereading the series as new books came out and sometimes just for fun… I remember one time I brought all the books with me to Florida on Spring Break because I wanted to see if I could get through them all in a week :). What I Remember I remember wanting to be exactly like Mia. I started journaling because of these books. I would even emulate Mia’s writing style and put all… Read more »

Review: Split Second

Review: Split Second

November 17, 2014 4.5 stars, Reviews 0 ★★★★½

I needed Split Second from the moment I set down Pivot Point! As a sequel, this book was AMAZING. It continued the plot line, expanded our knowledge of their world, and gave us more insight into new and old characters. There is pretty much only ONE reason why this is not a 5 star review: IT CAN’T BE OVER YET! I STILL WANT MORE! But let’s focus on the positives first. The Addie and Trevor ship will not go down!! Addie has to deal with the repercussions of the choice she made at the end of Pivot Point, MAINLY… Read more »

Review: Isla and the Happily Ever After

Review: Isla and the Happily Ever After

October 29, 2014 4.5 stars, Reviews 1 ★★★★½

This was complete and utter contemporary bliss!   Yep, pretty much all the fluffiness you need in life, and it came at a wonderful time for me as I’m trying to get back into blogging and reading after my slump. My Review I could easily relate to Lola, Josh, and various aspects of their relationship. The whole time Lola is struggling to figure out who she is and what she wants to do with the rest of her life (and even though I’m not in highschool or college, I STILL haven’t got all of this figured out). Her love of books… Read more »

Review: The Indigo Spell

Review: The Indigo Spell

August 6, 2014 4.5 stars, Reviews 1 ★★★★½

Sometimes, I find it difficult to review books in a series especially when I’m reading them all in a row… I’ve been TRYING to pace myself with the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead, but who am I kidding? I just want to binge them all NOW, especially because Silver Shadows just came out!! This review contains spoilers for the first two books of the series, because otherwise I would just be rambling on and on about Richelle Mead’s evil powers of compelling you to binge read all her books. Hopefully I can avoid that and be somewhat coherent. My Review… Read more »

Review: Bloodlines

Review: Bloodlines

July 23, 2014 4.5 stars, Reviews 1 ★★★★½

My Thoughts I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. I love Richelle Mead! I am a newly acquired fan of hers, after binge reading all of the Vampire Academy books in the month of May… though the reviews were spread out since then. By the time this review goes up all the reviews posted for the Vampire Academy series will be up. So while it may seem as though I can’t get enough of Richelle Mead, I actually took a little break. But after a month of reading some other great books, I just couldn’t hold back any… Read more »

Review: Heist Society

Review: Heist Society

June 30, 2014 4.5 stars, Reviews 3 ★★★★½

I really enjoyed this book. I don’t know why I didn’t pick it up sooner because I already knew of Ally Carter’s awesomeness from reading the Gallagher girls series over the past 8 years. I just love thievery, spies, mysteries, the thrill, CONNING, stealing art… and I don’t feel like there is enough YA that covers these kinds of fun topics/genres… but if you have any suggestions PLEASE let me know in the comments! My Thoughts: The plot was just amazing. I thought I had it ALLL figured out in the middle of the book, and maybe my theory could still… Read more »

Review: Blood Promise

Review: Blood Promise

June 9, 2014 4.5 stars, Reviews 0 ★★★★½

WARNING: This review contains spoilers for Books 1-3 of the Vampire Academy series. My Thoughts I was expecting this book to be a bit more slow paced than the other books in the series because at the end of Shadow Kiss Rose has decided to go off on her own in order to kill Dmitri because he was turned into a Strogoi. For the most part, this is a wandering book for Rose, but oddly enough I wasn’t bored by the pace of this book. There are probably a few good reasons why Mead was able to keep my attention throughout… Read more »
