I did it!

I did it!

March 3, 2017 Personal 2

EEEEEeeeeepp!!!! I have good news. I accepted an offer for a publishing job!! Starting on Monday, I’ll be working as the assistant of the Publisher of Forge at Macmillan!   This has been such a long and winding road for me, but after saving up for 2-3 years to move, job hunting for 8 months, completing 119 applications, and going on interviews for 14 different positions, I finally did it! Really though, I think I’m too excited to comprehend. There are just so many emotions, but I think the bottom line for me right now is that I’m so relieved… Read more »

Resolutions and Goals for 2016

Resolutions and Goals for 2016

January 23, 2016 Blogging Community, Personal 3

I missed the Top Ten Tuesday for Top Ten Resolutions for 2015, but I’ve been trying to come up with some good ones and since January is rapidly coming to an end, I’ve decided that it’s finally time to share them all with you. Bookish and Blogging Goals Read more adult fiction – I’m not doing a specific challenge for this (though if there is one out there I’d love to know more about it!), but as much as I LOVE YA and everything it has to offer, the few adult books that I have read over the past couple years… Read more »

Back from Honeymooning

Back from Honeymooning

August 11, 2015 Personal 3

Hey guys! I’ve been a little absent on the blog as of late. From getting married in June, to finding a new apartment, attempting to move out, going on a honeymoon, and moving in, it’s been a VERY busy month or so.  To help me get back into the swing of things, I wanted to share my honeymoon trip with you all! Day 1 Because no vacation is complete without fudge or chocolate, Ben and I stopped at a couple candy shops in Sturgeon Bay. I also wanted to pick up a book, in case I wasn’t satisfied with the… Read more »

An Open Letter to My YA Self | Giveaway

An Open Letter to My YA Self | Giveaway

April 8, 2015 Blogging Community, Giveaways, Personal 0

Ginger of GReads! is hosting An Open Letter to My YA Self, where bloggers and authors write a letter to their teen self along with recommending contemporary YA novels. Over the past year I’ve been discovering a lot of contemporary books that either I wish would have been around when I was in high school or that I would have known about when I was in high school. It was fun thinking about the kinds of books that would have held good advice for my YA self, but also a bit uncomfortable and sad to think of when I would… Read more »

My First Book Convention: ALA Midwinter | Giveaway

My First Book Convention: ALA Midwinter | Giveaway

February 6, 2015 Giveaways, Personal 15

As a book blogger, I really appreciated the opportunity to go to ALA. Maybe some feel that ALA isn’t “meant” for book bloggers, but ALA provides book bloggers with a means of attending through an exhibit-floor-only pass. Maybe I’m not a “professional” book blogger, but I’d like to think that my reviews help contribute (even if it’s just the tiniest amount) to create buzz for books. And honestly, sometimes I wish I would have gone to graduate school to become a librarian. Librarians are my kind of people, and I was happy to be apart of their convention. They also had these lovely… Read more »

Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2015

Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2015

December 30, 2014 Memes, Personal 3

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week we list our top 10 book-related things. This week is Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2015 — bookish, blogging or otherwise! Reading/Bookish 1. I’m going to increase my Goodreads challenge to 75 books for 2015. I easily met my goal of 60 books this year, and I got rather close to 75 (I’m at 72 right now). So I’m thinking it should be doable. 2. Update my Goodreads shelves so that I all the books I own are marked as such, and probably some general reorganization and clean up… Read more »

Christmas Time Slumping

Christmas Time Slumping

December 18, 2014 Personal 2

I had such high hopes for November and December. I planned on participating in Blog Ahead, and while I did successfully schedule one pretty awesome Top Ten Tuesday post…. I didn’t get anything else scheduled ahead of time. There are a lot of excuses I could give for me lacking motivation to blog: I got stuck in the middle of reading The Dream Thieves…. it’s taking me well over a month to read it and while I’m enjoying it. Somehow it’s not pulling me back in and begging me to complete it. If I can’t finish a book, I can’t… Read more »

I’m Back!!

I’m Back!!

October 20, 2014 Personal 2

I’m officially back from hiatus!! I don’t know if I’m officially refreshed or even remotely prepared to jump back into blogging, but it’s been too long and the only way to get back in it is to actually start posting stuff. Things In My Life You Guys Missed: I GOT AN IPHONE!! AND more importantly INSTAGRAM!!! Previously I had this smart phone that couldn’t have the majority of the apps out there… it was a out-of-date old Windows Phone that I got as a hand me down from my MOM. So, yes, even my mom had a cooler phone then… Read more »

On Hiatus

September 25, 2014 Personal 1

I know I know. I didn’t want to do this, but I’ve been MAJORLY slacking in the blogging department recently. There are many reasons, but primarily it’s just that I have been very busy at work and there are MANY things causing me stress right now. I hope that this will be a short hiatus, and that I’ll be back around the week of October 13th (after my sister’s wedding which will be a break from work, but probably stressful in it’s own kind of way).

Moving, lack of internet, and other sh*t: A Rant

August 13, 2014 Personal 3

I don’t often get very personal on this blog, but I’ve just had the worst couple of days and NEED to let off some steam. And begin rant: This past weekend and first half of the week has been complete and utter horseshit. The fiance and I moved from our crappy one-bedroom apartment to a lovely house that is filled with roommates. Yes, I agreed that moving into a beautiful house and saving money was worth the added roommates, but sigh… It’s just been a lot to deal with at once. Moving in general can be stressful, but moving in with people… Read more »
