EEEEEeeeeepp!!!! I have good news. I accepted an offer for a publishing job!! Starting on Monday, I’ll be working as the assistant of the Publisher of Forge at Macmillan!
This has been such a long and winding road for me, but after saving up for 2-3 years to move, job hunting for 8 months, completing 119 applications, and going on interviews for 14 different positions, I finally did it!
Really though, I think I’m too excited to comprehend. There are just so many emotions, but I think the bottom line for me right now is that I’m so relieved my job hunt is FINALLY over.
I’ve been mulling over what this could mean for the blog. Job hunting while having a full-time job was very draining in so many ways. And while starting a new job is super exciting, it can still be draining in a different more positive kind of way. Macmillan does have a pretty nice policy for their employees who blog, engage in social media, and other kinds of internet interactions, so I’m not currently planning on giving up my blog. I even have some post ideas about getting a job in the publishing industry (though feel free to DM me on twitter if anyone has specific questions), and I really think that being able to work on books is going inspire me in new ways!
Soooo hopefully you’ll see more of me on here 🙂
